In this snippet of my photo series I explore ‘queer time theory’ particularly in regards to how it differs from the stereotypical succession of life celebrations through the heteronormative lens. Queer lives often follow their own timeline based on many factors and so this work opened a dialogue with my friends on what stereotypes surround heterosexual life. So… who is ready to get ‘fake’ married?
Note: The budget for this was $20, supplies were bought at Dollar Tree, I made the wedding dress out of a $1.25 tablecloth and baked the wedding cake! Other clothing was brought from our closets and chosen by subjects based on comfort. Poses were based off of classic poses for each celebration with a twist of humor.
